The Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law, since its inception, has been devoted to promoting excellence in legal education, research, and advocacy, with the vision of nurturing professionals who embody strong ethical values, global perspectives, and a profound sense of social responsibility. As an integral part of Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, the Institute aligns with the University’s larger mission of advancing knowledge and serving humanity through innovation, education, and community engagement. The University, renowned for its multidisciplinary approach and vibrant academic culture, provides a nurturing environment equipped with modern infrastructure, experienced faculty, and a holistic learning atmosphere that empowers students to emerge as leaders upholding justice, equality, and service. This international conference was yet another testament to Subharti’s enduring commitment to creating intellectual spaces that facilitate dialogue on contemporary legal issues, promote interdisciplinary research, and encourage the integration of moral and spiritual dimensions into the study of law.

The central theme of the conference, “An Integrated Approach to Legal Philosophy and Religion for Sustainable Global Society,” sought to explore how the synergy between legal philosophy and religious ethics could offer innovative solutions to global challenges such as conflict, inequality, environmental degradation, and moral decay. The conference aimed to serve as a platform for discussing the deeper philosophical foundations of law and how religious doctrines across different traditions can inform the pursuit of justice, peace, and sustainability in today’s interconnected world. Sub-themes of the conference included a diverse range of topics such as Law and Spiritual Health, Natural Law and Divine Command, Spirituality in Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding, Legal Pluralism and Interfaith Harmony, Constitutional Morality and World Religions, Religion and Environmental Justice, Philosophy of Punishment: Legal vs. Religious Perspectives, Globalization, Legal Universality and Religious Particularism, Cosmic Energy, the Soul and Emerging Technologies, and Religious Ethics and Human Rights Jurisprudence

These themes were carefully curated to encourage interdisciplinary scholarship and comparative insights that could illuminate the shared moral objectives of both law and religion while addressing the complexities of modern governance. The two-day event attracted enthusiastic participation from students and scholars who presented original research papers before panels of distinguished academicians and jurists. On the first day of the conference, held on November 8th, 2025, the campus was filled with academic excitement as participants, faculty members, and guests gathered in the Sardar Patel Auditorium for the inaugural ceremony. The organizing committee ensured a seamless arrangement of events, creating an atmosphere of intellectual energy and collaboration. The participants shared that they felt privileged to be part of an event that encouraged free expression, deep inquiry, and the exchange of diverse perspectives. During the course of the day, numerous paper presentation sessions were conducted, where young researchers and experienced scholars alike engaged in meaningful dialogue on the convergence of jurisprudence and spirituality. Their presentations reflected not only a high standard of academic rigor but also a sincere concern for global peace and ethical governance.

The conference exemplified Subharti’s dedication to promoting values-based education that extends beyond mere legal interpretation to embrace humanity’s moral and spiritual aspirations. When our media team spoke to participants, their enthusiasm and appreciation were evident. Ayush Anand, a BA.LL.B. final-year student, expressed, “The conference is excellently organized and has provided us with a wonderful opportunity to interact with experts from different universities. The researchers and speakers shared their thoughts with great positivity and open-mindedness. It was a highly knowledgeable and inspiring day for all of us.” Another student, Sonali Roy, also from BA.LL.B. final year, added, “The organizing team and officials treated us with utmost respect and warmth. We truly feel that Subharti University is a sea of knowledge. This conference has broadened our understanding of how law, philosophy, and religion can be interconnected to create a better world. It was a life-changing learning experience.” These heartfelt reflections captured the essence of the event—a harmonious blend of academic brilliance, moral insight, and youthful enthusiasm. Our Media Executive also interacted with other vibrant students, including Rahul Roy, Jane Alam, Kartik Sharma, Om Thakur, Palak Tyagi, Preet, Devansh, Harsh, Rachika, and Ranjan Ojha, all of whom presented their research papers with confidence and intellectual maturity before the distinguished chairs.

Their discussions centered around various dimensions of legal and spiritual philosophy, emphasizing how ancient wisdom can guide modern legal systems in creating equitable and humane societies. Each participant’s presentation demonstrated the conference’s success in inspiring analytical thought and encouraging the integration of law with universal moral principles. The day also witnessed the gracious presence of eminent personalities such as Prof. (Dr.) Sarika Tyagi, Arshad Alam, Harshit, Ms. Shalini Goel, and Ashutosh Yadav, who contributed their expertise and observations, further enriching the academic atmosphere. The speakers and attendees together examined how different religions and philosophical traditions perceive justice, ethics, and human rights, and how these insights could influence the evolution of international law and policy. The dialogue extended to exploring the role of spirituality in conflict resolution, emphasizing peacebuilding through compassion and understanding rather than confrontation. The discussions revealed that both law and religion, when guided by rationality and empathy, can work in tandem to create frameworks that uphold human dignity, protect the environment, and ensure sustainable development for future generations.

The conference sessions were not merely academic discourses but served as a confluence of ideas where intellect met introspection, and scholarship intertwined with spirituality. Throughout the day, the organizing committee, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya and Professor Reena Bishnoi, ensured flawless coordination and hospitality, making the participants feel valued and supported. Their tireless efforts, along with the contributions of Co-Conveners Dr. Afreen Almas, Ms. Ana Sisodia, and Ms. Sonal Jain, and Organizing Secretary Dr. Prem Chandra, reflected the Subharti spirit of unity, professionalism, and excellence. As the sessions unfolded, the participants engaged in stimulating debates on issues like the universality of human rights in the context of religious particularism, the philosophical basis of punishment in different cultures, and the impact of globalization on ethical legal systems. The conference reaffirmed the idea that sustainable societies can only be built when law incorporates compassion, when philosophy is informed by reason, and when religion is practiced with tolerance. Day one concluded on an inspiring note, with participants expressing gratitude toward the university for providing a platform that encouraged cross-cultural academic collaboration and personal growth. The intellectual energy that filled the auditorium symbolized a shared vision for a peaceful and just global community. The event also emphasized how legal institutions and educational organizations must take the lead in fostering such dialogues that transcend geographical, cultural, and ideological barriers.

As the day drew to a close, the participants and dignitaries left with renewed conviction that the convergence of law and spirituality is not a mere academic ideal but a practical necessity for addressing the ethical dilemmas of modern civilization. The Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law, through this conference, once again demonstrated its role as a catalyst for change, championing a holistic vision of education that integrates intellectual brilliance with moral integrity. By successfully hosting this international conference, Subharti University reaffirmed its position as a premier center for legal and philosophical research, dedicated to the cause of justice, humanity, and sustainable global harmony. The event was not just a milestone in the University’s academic journey but a clarion call to scholars and policymakers worldwide to recognize that the path to sustainable development lies in aligning human laws with the eternal principles of truth, compassion, and righteousness.

In essence, the Two-Day International Conference on “An Integrated Approach to Legal Philosophy and Religion for Sustainable Global Society” at Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law was a grand success—a fusion of knowledge, culture, and ethics that will be remembered as a defining moment in Subharti’s ongoing pursuit of global academic excellence and moral enlightenment.
